| Activision wist te melden dat er alleen al in de eerste week na de release maar liefst 8 miljoen gamers op Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 hebben gespeeld, en daar is Activision ook trots op. We wisten natuurlijk al dat het niet vaak voorkomt dat er zoveel op een game wordt gespeeld, maar nu blijkt het ook zo te zijn dat Activision daarmee een machtig leger in haar bezit heeft die zonder probleem een een paar legers zou kunnen uitroeien. Al speelt oorlog zich stiekem niet af op een televisiescherm.
