Sony toont PlayStation 4-console op de E3 2013
Tijdens het PlayStation 4-evenement regende het onthullingen en aankondigingen, maar toch was er één grote afwezige: de console zelf. Tijdens het evenement zagen we volop games en mogelijkheden de revue passeren, maar er was nog geen spoor te bekennen van hoe de nieuwe console er eigenlijk uit komt te zien. Sony heeft echter bevestigd dat men straks in juni de PS4 zal tonen tijdens de E3.
 
De beurs in Los Angeles biedt naast een onthulling van het uiterlijk ook een mooi moment voor Sony om meer te demonstreren van de vele functionaliteiten die men deze week onthulde. Michael Danny, vice-president van Sony Worldwide Studios, vertelde:
 
"E3, of course we'll be there, showing more, talking about more. But to have a focussed event where we could get across early the vision for what we're doing and why we're doing it… the vision of what it's about.
 
E3 we'll have details, a business case, showing actual hardware – it'll come, okay - but [we're] here to say, 'look we set off talking five years ago, [and] we wanted to make something very gamer-centric'."
