Het offline zijn van het PlayStation Network zorgt tot nu toe alleen nog maar voor problemen, maar zojuist is er toch nog een lichtpuntje naar buiten gebracht.   Met het PlayStation netwerk dat nog steeds down is lijken mensen niet genoegen meer te nemen met enkel een werkend online netwerk. Nu wil natuurlijk ook iedereen een compensatie zien voor de dagen waarin men onder andere geen Portal 2 online heeft kunnen spelen. Sony lijkt gehoor te geven aan de wensen van de PS3-bezitters, zo lezen we via de Engadget. Sony zou namelijk gezegd hebben dat het overweegt om met de herlancering van PSN ook direct cross game voice chat en ingame video features mee te lanceren. Vooral cross voice chat is al lange tijd een wens van veel PS3-gebruikers. Daarnaast wordt gemeld dat er niet specifiek kan worden ingegaan op welke nieuwe features er zullen komen, maar doordat het PSN opnieuw wordt opgebouwd kunnen we een enorme update verwachten. "First we apologize for the lack of communication regarding the current situation which may have affected our registered users on the PlayStation Network & Qriocity services. We expect to provide more updates on the outrage and current status of the network development. I cannot say much regarding specifics on the matter but for your question: 1) There are no plans for a price drop on PlayStation products (i.e. PS2, PS3 and PSP hardware) 2) I will look into this as PlayStation®Plus has been growing in the interest of users. 3) We are currently looking into this as we rebuild the network. 4) This feature is available but not in all regions as of yet. It was expected to be updated in European regions in the following weeks with a North American release to follow shortly after. 5) As we are rebuilding the network, we are taking into consideration in implementing features such as cross game chat and in-game video chat to name a few. I cannot confirm any new features at this time but expect a massive update when the network is restored.
