Gisteren werd met veel bombarie de gloednieuwe PS3 exclusive The Last of Us onthuld. Deze game komt exclusief uit op de PS3 en wordt ontwikkeld door niemand minder dan Naughty Dog, het team achter de Uncharted-franchise en Crash Bandicoot. De game moet een ervaring bieden die ongekend is en nog nooit eerder gedaan is in een andere game. Met actie- en survivalelementen moet dit een game worden om nooit meer te vergeten. Naughty Dog heeft meer onthuld in een persbericht. "We are excited to finally unveil The Last of Us, a project the team has been working hard on for some time,” aldus Evan Wells, Co-President van Naughty Dog. "Naughty Dog’s mission is to change the way people experience videogames. We are confident The Last of Us will take a leap forward in cinematic gaming and storytelling, providing gamers with an experience unlike anything else in the industry.” Zo bevat het persbericht bovenstaand citaat van Naughty Dog’s Co-President Evan Wells. Hierin vertelt hij dat hun missie het veranderen van de manier waarop men vandaag de dag videogames speelt. Ze barsten van het zelfvertrouwen en zijn haast zeker van het feit dat The Last of Us het genre naar een hoger niveau tilt. De ervaring moet dan ook ongekend zijn in de gamesindustrie.   The Last of Us draait om een moderne plaag die de wereld teistert. Steden worden terug overgenomen door de natuur en overlevenden moorden elkaar uit om aan voedsel te komen. Joel en Ellie nemen de hoofdrollen op zich in deze game. Opvallend is dat Ellie een tienermeisje is.
