Michael Denny, grote man bij Sony Europe, heeft in een interview aangegeven dat het belang van een nieuwe IP heel erg groot is voor het merk PlayStation. IP staat voor Intellectual Project en betekend eigenlijk gewoon een nieuwe, originele game. Sony heeft al aardig wat IP's in zijn bezit, maar volgens Denny is dit nog lang niet genoeg. Hij liet ook weten dat ze naast voor de PlayStation 3 en PlayStation Portable ook de PS2 met nieuwe IP's willen ondersteunen. Hij benadrukte ook dat het PlayStation Network een heel erg belangrijk hulpmiddel is voor creatieve ontwikkelaars en dat we dus een aantal nieuwe IP’s in de vorm van downloadbare games kunnen verwachten. Kom maar op met die IP’s Sony.
